Such a thing as too much fun
I paid for that. I think there is such a thing as too much fun. We went to Freetails for a coworker friend's birthday. Jeremy has a set of guys at work that are just awesome. Families were there. We hung out. I had a beer called chocolate orange. I don't normally have dark beer, or beer in generally really. I'm a wine girl, through and through. And then, we had Wurst fest the next day with "L" and DA. It was packed!!! There was so much to see. We ate beforehand so it wouldn't be as expensive. But still beer...and snacks! Plus, "L" and I wanted to get our face painted. I ended up with a purple unicorn. You won't see it exactly in the pictures, but I was wearing glitter. I had taken a nap earlier to recharge and deal with coming home late. It's usually my strategy for when my sleep cycle is different or off. And I got it all over my pillow. And some on Jeremy because we were snuggling. Poor guy lol. With everything going on last week, I wanted to put out happy vibes. And I have learned my silliness is a superpower of sorts. So...why not use it for good? My stomach was starting to get a little iffy Saturday night but nothing came of it. Then, Sunday we were going to hang out with "L" and DA again. But I was able to have some bff quality time with dear one. Great talk. It was nice catching up. Her schedule has changed. Life happened. So when I can get some bff time, I take it! Jeremy was studying so I went a few hours. And had Crazy Aunt Jess time too. I am honored that my friends entrust me with that role. I digress. We got pizza. And like a crazy person trying to keep up with Jeremy's stomach. No one has a stomach like Jeremy...I had the garlic sauce spicy yummy thing. And I think that did it. I started feeling the beginnings of a migraine. Nothing like the day I had to go to the emergency room for migraine. That was a migraine nightmare experience. Thank goodness I had help. I am always grateful for that. But there I was...feeling the dread coming. There is always that period where I have to figure if it's a bad enough migraine to take the medicine. I called it early. But on the way home, I didn't make it and puked. I felt better. We came home and I took the medicine. And I guess the puking made me exhausted because I crashed. Not before puking one more time lol. So...this morning. All I did was rest and sleep. My support system has checked in me to make sure I'm okay. It makes me smile...and heart melt. I've got one errand. And of course, house wifey things to do. But after that, I'm taking it easy. I have work tomorrow so I need my energy for that. I wear my happy socks and keep the Hufflepuff necklace in my pocket. I have one pair of Hufflepuff socks and so many pairs of Doctor Who. I wanted to get more Harry Potter but I wanted Hufflepuff. I may just go back for the Harry Potter that don't have the houses. But for now, I'm good. I lead a wonderfully boring life. But I am learning to handle my reactions to life in a different manner. Life throws things at you. And it's great to hold onto that Zen. Truly, it is. But reality doesn't usually stay like that. Again....life happens. So...you learn how to react to that.

Inside my world
Although I don't have a picture up, Catherine Cortez Masto is the first Latina to be elected in the Senate. History was made
I have a request. I tried posting but it doesn't seem to work. Not all of the lyrics resonated with me, like going to church cause momma said...But if you could see the video, "Be Humble and Kind", by Time McGraw. Thanks.
Hufflepuff love
To some, it may almost childish or ridiculous that I am so insistent on being the persona that represents Hufflepuff. and I'm okay with that. It's just for me, Hufflepuff love is exactly how I can cope with the world around me. It's how I can adjust to the reality set forth for me. It starts with me. And the best way I know how to do that is by being the Hufflpuff qualities described. Some qualities are as follows:
Hardworking, patient, loyal, and fair. I want to be a positive impact on the world. So...this is me, sending Hufflepuff love, to you. Evenstar by Howard Shore is on. It's a beautiful and daunting sound. But it almost resonates the feeling I have. Sometimes, music conveys the thoughts we lose in words. A me quote. lol On our bedroom wall Jeremy and I have two wall art items that convey that. One says "Music is what feelings sound like." And the second one that is next to two guitars, once acoustic, and one electric, says, " When words fail, music speaks. I love looking at them. It's a gentle reminder of how sometimes, not even words can convey a feeling or thought. And that's okay. There is so much tension right now. There isn't a side that is more right than the other. And I learned something yesterday. One shouldn't chastise a person for whom they voted for. And one shouldn't chastise for mourning the loss of a candidate not becoming president. I almost got sucked in myself for a second or two when I saw something on Facebook. And in some sense, I may have chosen words that were a blanket of anger. I was assuming and accusing too. I was no better. I stopped myself because that isn't me. And it took a heart to heart discussion with my friend EB for me to rethink my words. She and I, at first seemed tense with our conversation. But by the end of it, we felt closer. And she called me one of her best friends. That melted my heart. It was a reminder of positives coming out of negatives. And a reminder to look at positives out of negatives, as a whole right now. They're hard to find. But, if I can find a positive out of a rape, no less....I can find a positive out of anything. We make choices..And I chose to react a certain way. That kind of discipline isn't easy. But, as I am given lessons in life, I am learning to think about the situation rather than just react. I don't expect that other people will take my approach. But I have to be authentic me. And my nature is not to lash out. I'm human. It will happen. But I often do it out of a negative reaction towards me. This time, it was about the idea that one set of people have said worse about a person than the other. I found it nonsense. I allowed myself to have a knee jerk reaction. Bad on me. People will have opinions. People will disrespect. People will be inconsiderate. That doesn't mean I have to be like that too. So, today....and this day forward, I will vow to be aware of my kindness. I will fight for kindness by being kind. I will change the world, one beautiful gesture at a time. Inner Voices by R Carlos Nakai is on. Have a beautiful day, my beautiful quiet spaces. As always, thank you for reading my thoughts. Thank you for reading my thoughts. Thank you for caring, for curiosity, for guidance, for entertainment. Thank you, for just being you. I especially owe a beautiful thank you to France. Yes, you, France. Have a beautiful day, guys. Stay humble and kind, if you can. It's a request...not a an order. Of all places, It was a Cinderalla movie, I saw this...Have courage...and be kind.

No time for that
No time for that. This morning, while some had to swallow the reality we live in, I didn't get the time to react. I had to take Whiskers to the vet. She had ligament and joint issues. She's too old for surgery so I got medication for her. Maybe I foresee a darkness that will not be. After all, we don't know the future. But I did learn something today. I need to be more aware, because I have brown skin. and often get mistaken more for Middle Eastern rather what I am, Hispanic. I need to be more aware because I am a sexual assault survivor. It's a new awareness I didn't realize would have to be part of my reality. But there it is. Bullies do win. It's a reality. But it doesn't mean we stop being kind to each other. In fact, it makes me more inspired to be kind. So, life goes on. Life sometimes doesn't work out and you have to adjust accordingly. Not because you want to. But because you have to. I am proud of my strength. I am proud I am a strong and vocal woman. I am proud that my feedback and insight provide people with strength and thoughts that perhaps turn into action. Just need to take one day at a time. And hope for the best.

Authentic you
"You're too nice for your own good"
I said that to a friend. I also believe it of myself, at times. And then, not. As much as I am nice, sometimes, not going the extra mile of giving you me, is not being nice. I do know this. As my sweet and dearest friend would say, if being too nice for your own good is being your true authentic self, then so be it. And so, sometimes, I am nice...until I can be nice no longer. I remove myself. Maybe turning 40 has gotten me to this perspective, but sometimes you gotta say enough is enough. "L" came up with a witty coin for those who no such boundary. And it makes me laugh. And so Harry Potter lol Death Eater. She also came up with Douche nozzle, so I coined the two together and came up with Douchenozzle Death Eater. Inconsiderate twits with no regard for other people and their feelings, often bullies, perhaps narcissistic, and suck the positive energy out of you. But here's the beautiful part. For the DDs of your life, find the beautiful spots in your life. Tribe, Squad, group...whatever you want to call it, find people that accept and love you for whom you are. I have the good, the bad, and the Jess. Yet, I have people in my life that celebrate the beautiful mess that I am. I honor and cherish these people in my life. Anything that comes my way is doable, because I have exactly the kind of support I need. And I love being that support for them too. Be authentic you. That doesn't mean be an asshole. We all know to well the ..."I'm just being blunt or honest bs of the world that people say. Or Just telling it like it is. No...what you're doing is being an asshole. There is a way to convey your thoughts to people without insulting them. In the end, what they are doing is giving their opinion, in their "honesty". And I choose to be strong with positive. Life doesn't come in Unicorns and Cupcakes version. Damn. I wish it would lol. But I learned that as I was trying to maintain my Zen life. That's okay. Sometimes you need to find out life isn't all Unicorns and cupcakes so you can learn. So you can grow. And in some ways, so you can heal. We all have a story. And in that story, there is a pain. And in that pain, there is a lesson. And in that lesson, there is growth. With all the mean I see around right now, I want to still keep kind. I'm not always kind. But you know what, kind may also be pushover. Kind doesn't mean you run over me. And that is something I am learning. I hope you have kind moment today. But remember, there are those who take your kind and bulldoze you. I can't tell you what to do. You may let them. And you with good reason. Or you may not, with good reason. Just remember, to be authentic you. I'm proud of authentic you.
